Lace up your running shoes and experience Pine Mountain on foot during the Pine Mountain Fest Half Marathon, 10K & 5K, Saturday, Sept. 19.

Hosted by TriColumbusGA, the event offers three distances for runners of varying experience levels, with courses showcasing the scenic Man O’ War Trail and the natural beauty and small-town charm of Pine Mountain. Whether you’re taking on the half marathon, tackling the 10K or enjoying the 5K, it’s a great way to start a full day in Pine Mountain.

The Half Marathon begins at approximately 8 a.m., followed by the 5K at approximately 8:15 a.m. Race-day packet pickup will be held from 6–7:30 a.m. at the Pine Mountain baseball field, 250 McDougald Ave. Participants receive finisher medals, with awards presented to top finishers in designated categories.

After crossing the finish line, stick around and enjoy Pine Mountain’s shops, restaurants and festival activities happening in town.

Each December, Wreaths Across America brings communities together to remember our nation’s veterans, honor those who serve and teach future generations the value of freedom and sacrifice.

The King’s Gap Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution invites the community to participate in the 2026 Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 19.

The ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. at Pine Mountain Cemetery, where sponsored wreaths will be placed on veterans’ graves. Following the ceremony and wreath placement, participants will caravan to Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery to place wreaths on veterans’ graves there.

Placing a wreath on a veteran’s grave is more than a holiday tradition. Each wreath is an opportunity to remember an individual who served our country and to ensure that his or her service and sacrifice are not forgotten.

Sponsor a Wreath

Community members are encouraged to sponsor wreaths for veterans at Pine Mountain Cemetery and Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Each wreath sponsorship is $17. Sponsored wreaths are shipped directly to the participating cemetery selected by the sponsor for placement on National Wreaths Across America Day.

Wreaths may be sponsored online through Wreaths Across America using a credit/debit card. Sponsors should select the cemetery where they would like their sponsorship credited.

Those who prefer to sponsor through the King’s Gap Chapter may contact the chapter for a sponsorship form and pay by cash or check.

The deadline to sponsor a wreath is December 2, 2026.

Patriotic Quilt Raffle

Anyone who sponsors five wreaths will be entered into a raffle for a handmade patriotic quilt. Sponsorships made online through Wreaths Across America or directly through the King’s Gap Chapter qualify.

The deadline to sponsor five wreaths and qualify for the raffle is December 2. The winning ticket will be drawn during the Wreaths Across America ceremony on December 19.

In Honor or In Memory

Sponsors may also make a sponsorship in honor of someone or in memory of a veteran. An “In Honor Of” sponsorship can include an email notification to the person being honored, while an “In Memory Of” sponsorship can include a veteran’s name and message on Wreaths Across America’s online Remembrance Wall. These special requests do not designate a wreath for placement on a particular loved one’s grave.

Join the Community

The public is encouraged to attend the ceremony, help place wreaths and join the caravan from Pine Mountain Cemetery to Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Additional ceremony details will be announced as plans are finalized.

America 250 Patriot Motorcycle Ride

Join the Town of Pine Mountain and the Chipley Woman’s Club for the America 250 Patriot Motorcycle Ride on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Pine Mountain Visitor Center, 101 Broad St., followed by a safety briefing at 10 a.m. and kickstands up at 10:15 a.m.

The approximately 90-minute group ride will travel through the scenic Pine Mountain, Woodbury and Warm Springs areas before returning to Pine Mountain around noon — just in time to grab lunch at one of our local restaurants.

Registration is $25 per motorcycle, and no advance registration is required. Passengers are welcome, and participants will be required to sign a waiver. The first 10 motorcycles to register will receive a free commemorative America 250 T-shirt, with additional shirts available for purchase that day.

Come ride with us as Pine Mountain continues celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with “Small Town. Big History.”

“In the Garden” Spring Luncheon – Tickets on Sale

The Chipley Woman’s Club invites community members and guests to attend the annual “In the Garden” Spring Luncheon on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the historic Memorial Garden on South McDougald Avenue.

This beloved event supports scholarships for young women from Harris County and the surrounding area, helping students pursue educational opportunities connected to Columbus State University, Columbus Technical College and Harris County High School.

Guests will enjoy a delightful luncheon, entertainment by nationally recognized storyteller Carol Cain, door prizes, a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and the club’s traditional Garden Hat Contest, featuring a patriotic theme in celebration of America 250.

Lights of Love Ceremony – Chipley Woman’s Club

The community is invited to the Chipley Woman’s Club Lights of Love Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at 132 McDougald Avenue in Pine Mountain.

Lights of Love, which began in 2013, is a heartfelt celebration honoring the lives and memories of loved ones during the Christmas season. A light will shine on the tree for each individual remembered, honored or celebrated. Each light is illuminated through a $20 donation, and all honoree names will be recorded in the Lights of Love book, which will be available for viewing inside the Chipley Woman’s Club both before and after the ceremony.

This year’s tree will be lit by Ann Neal Clancy, a lifelong Pine Mountain resident and longtime Chipley Woman’s Club member.

“Lights of Love is one of Pine Mountain’s most meaningful traditions,” said Julia Keating, executive director of the Pine Mountain Tourism Association and a member of the Chipley Woman’s Club. “It gives families a beautiful way to honor the people they love during the holiday season, and it brings our entire community together in a spirit of warmth, remembrance and celebration.”

While attending the Lights of Love ceremony, guests are encouraged to purchase tickets for the Chipley Woman’s Club Holiday Tour of Homes & Churches, set for Saturday, Dec. 13. This is the only holiday home tour being hosted in the region this year, offering a rare glimpse inside beautifully decorated homes and historic churches. Proceeds from the tour support the Chipley Woman’s Club’s charitable programs, which assist children, citizens in need and other community-focused initiatives in Pine Mountain and the surrounding area.

Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

With no holiday home tours taking place this year in Columbus or LaGrange, Pine Mountain proudly hosts the region’s premier seasonal showcase: the 2025 Holiday Tour of Homes & Churches.

Guests will begin their experience at the historic Chipley Woman’s Clubhouse, which opens at 10 a.m. for check-in. All attendees must pick up their official tour book here before visiting any homes or churches. The tour book includes location addresses, a printed map, and important event details—and is required for entry at each stop.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., visitors may enjoy a self-guided driving tour of beautifully decorated private homes and historic churches throughout Pine Mountain. Tour signs will mark each participating location.

Festive Extras at the Clubhouse

Arrive early to soak in the holiday atmosphere and shop with local vendors. Fresh wreaths, seasonal artwork, fashions, and refreshments will be available for purchase—perfect for supporting local artisans while enjoying the kickoff to a festive day.

“This event is more than a tour—it’s a celebration of the people, churches, and traditions that define Pine Mountain,” shared Mary Louise Griffin of the Chipley Woman’s Club.
