The Ideal Setting

Pine Mountain, a charming southern town located just an hour southwest of Atlanta, is known across the South as the “Gateway to Callaway Gardens.”

The stunning 2,500-acre Callaway Gardens resort, complete with beautiful gardens, lakes, golf courses and lodging, adjoins the lively Pine Mountain, Georgia community just a few blocks from the center of town. Our town is the ideal setting for a Saturday excursion with the family, a weekend getaway with friends, or even a romantic backdrop for a wedding or honeymoon. No matter how you enjoy a break, this area has something to offer everyone.

In every corner of the community you may come across a new treasure. The downtown is filled with locally-owned shops and boutiques offering a variety of goods.

Whether you’re in search of the perfect antique armoire or a small trinket to bring home to the kids, you can find it all along the inviting streets. Pine Mountain also has an interesting collection of local artists and craftsmen who sell their work in various parts of the area.

Clubs

The King’s Gap Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution meets the first Tuesday of each month at The Chipley Woman’s Club, 132 S. McDougald, Pine Mountain.
The Rotary Club of Harris County meets most every Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. at The Chipley Woman’s Club, 132 S. McDougald, Pine Mountain.

Rails to Trails Bicycle Trail

The Man O’ War Trail begins in Pine Mountain at Chipley Street and currently ends behind the Callaway Gardens Country Store.  There is access from the trail to Callaway Country Store and also to the 23 miles of Pine Mountain Trail at F. D. Roosevelt State Park.   The completed trail from Pine Mountain past the Callaway Gardens Country Store to Mulberry Creek is approximately 13.4 miles one way.  The goal is to complete the trail to Columbus.

Designations

The Town of Pine Mountain is designated as a Purple Heart Town.

Pine Mountain is the “Eagle Scout Town of the South” having averaged an earning the status of Eagle Scout for each year it has been in existence since 1945 (some years missed due to the men going to fight for war).

The Great Outdoors

Only a few minutes from downtown, you will find an assortment of activities that appeal to every member of the family. If you love spending your afternoon swinging a golf club, Callaway Gardens is home to one of the finest golf courses in the state. Horseback riding, fishing or hiking the trails of F. D. Roosevelt State Park are other great ways to spend the day in our area, and our beautiful countryside has become a favorite for cyclists.
