One of the area's most popular attractions, the 500-acre Pine Mountain Wild Animal Safari,
offers a unique, hands-on safari experience. Visitors can see, touch and feed hundreds
of exotic animals from every continent—a true worldwide safari.
The experience is probably different from any you have encountered at other parks and zoos. It is
not hard to imagine yourself in Africa or South America while driving through the vehicle
touring section, because it is most of the animals who roam freely, not the humans. You can expect
to see any number of wildebeests, camels, giraffes, rhinos, water bufflaoes, antelopes, and
zebras grazing nearby.
While on safari, do not be surprised if some of the animals come right up to your window to say
"hello" and look for their special "treats" (available only at the park).
While you can tour the park in your own vehicle, you may prefer to take a guided tour on one of
the Zebra Buses, where you will no doubt be joined by a black Hawaiian sheep, who hops on board
to greet visitors.
Don't think you are done yet, there is also a walk-thru section of the park.
This section includes Old McDonald's Farm, Petting Zoo, Monkey House, Alligator Pit, picnic area
and restaurant. Plan an hour for this section of the park as well.
The opportunities for fun, education and meeting a new friend or two are endless at the
Wild Animal Safari year-round. Guided bus tours and animal shows are included every day during
the summer and on weekends during the spring and fall. Special events and promotions are held
throughout the year. Picnic facilities are available for a family or corporate outing and
hayrides can also be scheduled for a special view of the park.
